LI10 [IC10]
(SHOU-) SANLI [Te no Sanri, Arm Three Li, Arm Three Miles]

Localisation:

2 cun distal to LI11 on the LI5 to LI11 connecting line

  • the distance between the wrist (LI5) and the elbow (LI11) is 12 cun

Category of Points:

Functions:

  • regulates Qi and Blood
  • activates the meridian and alleviates pain
  • harmonises the intestines and the stomach

Indication:

  • pain and immobility of the arm and shoulder, hemiplegia, atrophy of the arm muscles
  • stomach ache, vomiting, diarrhoea
  • toothache, facial paralysis, goitre, scrofula

Remarks:

  • used for toothache, especially in the maxilla
  • strengthens and regulates the circulation of Qi and Blood in the arms and is also used in conjunction with LI4, LI11 and LI15
  • for inability to extend the arm at the elbow LI10 can be used in conjunction GB34
