Localisation:
on the radial side of the wrist, between the tendons of the m. extensor pollicis longus and the m. extensor pollicis brevis
- when the thumb is spread apart the point is located at the lowest part of the thereby resulting depression
Category of Points:
- Jing (River) point
- Fire point
Functions:
- clears Heat and relieves pain
- clears Heat in the Yang Ming
- calms the spirit
- benefits the wrist
Indication:
- tinnitus, hearing loss, deafness, earache
- runny nose, nosebleed
- blood in the stool, inflammation in the intestines, poor digestion, digestive disorders in children
- febrile illnesses with emotional disharmonies
- discomfort and pains in the wrist, contractions of the fingers, discomforts and pains in the knee area, meniscus complaints
Remarks:
- treats headaches especially in the forehead area
- treats problems especially in the lateral meniscus
- for meniscus complaints LI5 is used in conjunction with SI5
- stimulates the Large Intestine Yang and promotes the utilisation of food
- for finger contractions SI4 is the corresponding point on the ulnar side
- as LI7, LI8 and LI11 it is used for Yang Ming- Heat that leads to emotional disharmonies
