LI6 [IC6]
PIANLI [Henreki, Lateral Passage, Veering Passage]

Localisation:

3 cun proximal to LI5 on the connecting line between LI5 and LI 11

  • the distance between the wrist (LI5) and the elbow (LI11) is 12 cun

Category of Points:

  • Connecting point (Luo Xue)

Functions:

  • expels Wind and clears Heat
  • opens and regulates the water passages

Indication:

  • tinnitus, impaired hearing, deafness
  • nasal discharge, nosebleed
  • toothache, discomfort and pain in the mouth and throat, facial palsy
  • difficult urination, oedema, ascites (water accumulation in the abdominal area)
  • reddened and sore eyes, blurred vision
  • poor digestion, borborygmus
  • pain of the wrist, elbow and upper arm

Remarks:

  • to promote digestion and nutritional absorption LI6 is used together with SI7
